In a holiday-shortened week, stocks continued to show positive moves higher, as investors are witnessing new optimism that the economy could be rebounding. The markets are seeing increases in the price of commodities, like oil and natural gas, as a sign that a strengthening economy will demand more energy. The DOW closed the week higher, adding 2.7%, to close at 8,500.33. The S&P also finished the week in the green, gaining 3.6%, ending at 919.15. The NASDAQ concluded the week higher, climbing 4.9%, to close at 1,774.33.
