Are options safe?

BetterTrades is out to show you that the conventional wisdom regarding the options market is wrong. For years people have been told that buying and selling options is unsafe, and that the only real way to make money is to buy stock and hold it until time to retire.

That theory went out the window when General Motors and Ford stock went on sale for a fraction of what it did 20 years ago. Under the buy-and-hold strategy, it's perfectly fine to buy a stock at $35 and sell it two decades later for $5. Of course it's fine, if you're the broker. If you're the investor, it doesn't qualify for a better trade.

That's why BetterTrades believes the preferable strategy is to get a stock market education and watch your own money. It can be potentially grown by using the strategies taught by BetterTrades, which emphasizes safety and does its best to keep its students out of trouble and predicaments.

Buying and selling options can be a scary proposition to the uneducated participant. It's also frightening to drive a car or jump off a diving board for the first time. But to a person who has been taught and educated by BetterTrades, the landscape probably appears less scary.

Traders who purchase options may potentially have more leverage and less risk than people who actually purchase the stock. Options traders just need to ensure they buy the correct option and have enough time on their side to complete the trade. BetterTrades students leave their classroom with the sort of knowledge and understanding it takes to achieve this feat.

So options are probably no trickier to learn than any other investment instrument. Like buying stocks, buying options requires forethought and consideration. But options are not to be feared once the proper Better Trades education is in place.
